Well, then.

One can be an evil asshole and have a different perspective. Said perspective could even blind someone to the simple truths of the world.

It gave me the impression that he didn't believe those things because he thought they were right, but did because they could satisfactorily justify the actions he wanted to take because they benefited him.

That seems insightful. Never met the man, never really studied him. understood the obsession with WMD after reading up on the CIA; however, empathy is not forgiveness.

Well, judging by the above comment, it would seem that Dick Cheney didn't bring a new perspective to the table. Or, perhaps more accurately, he did not attempt to make a constructive use of his perspective.

In the end, that makes him both an asshole and useless.
