I've been the luckiest MF'er in history when it comes to the Law (knock on wood). Among my many transgressions: I have been pulled over shitfaced; had the cops called on me at a hotel for drunk and disorderly (unfortunately I was in my 20s, so I don't have the teenage excuse); was stopped at airport security with a half oz of mushrooms in my possession, because my boot buckles kept triggering the alarm (fortunately they never bothered to check my front pocket! O, pre-9/11 days, how I long for you); and I could rattle off half a dozen other times when the gods smiled on me. Somehow, I've escaped the long arm of the law, and I have no idea how. My brother has been arrested multiple times, and we pretty much were together most of the time when we were kids. Sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes, well, the bar, it eats you., I guess

Never been to 'Nam, but I can't see myself loving napalm. I was always self destructive, not really destructive of others; I was never a vandal or a thief (except for the porn mags my friends and I used to steal from Barnes and Noble when we were in middle school--before it was behind the counter--but that very Jean Valjean of us, stealing out of necessity). I hope that most of my law breaking days are over. Luck is one of those factors you just can't account for in life.
