When we released our second album we sent out pre-stamped post cards with a simple question: "What band should "The New Green" cover as the last song of our CD release show? We then left a blank "write in" space. We sent out ~200 and received about 100 back. We ended up playing the top 6 most requested bands as our encore.
I forget the order but here are the songs:
Talking Heads -Life During Wartime Built to Spill - Center of the Universe The Band - The Shape I'm In Elton John - Rocket Man Wilco - Always in Love The Cure - Close to Me
It was a BLAST but I really enjoyed playing this one because it showcased everyone in the band a bit. bgood79 on lead guitar and lead vocals.
Check it out scrimetime and jonaswildman
Thanks man, I really miss playing with these guys. A LOT. bgood shreds in this one and it was always a lot of fun to listen to him live. I always loved the trumpet too and probably should have asked him to play more/longer. The organ at 3:33 makes me gasp a bit, but otherwise I think it was near perfect. I'm playing with a drummer this coming Sunday. It will be the first time I play music with someone since moving away from these guys. I hope it goes well, I really miss playing with people. Thanks for the badge!
