I seriously don't know if I can without it ruining my day. It reads far too much like reports from my mothers time as a social worker (I was a boring kid, hung out on campus with my mom reading social work journals and research documents)
I was going to write something 'deep' along the lines of 'if you want to see more light in the world you must battle darkness' but the whole thing is just sad. If cops get jaded and angry after years of dealing with human garbage, I can't imagine what a full career in social work would do to you.
The really sad thing is the people drawn to social work are the ones who needed a social worker at some point in their past. The rates are shit, they're unappreciated and they're essentially powerless… yet the line stretches around the block for people wanting the gig. I made more hourly as a 3rd-year undergrad mechanical engineering intern than my GF did with a cum laude degree from the best MSW program in the United States. The people doing that gig? They really want to do that gig.
