Thanks for the link, I quite like this post on the modifying of fonts for logo purposes. For my own site I did quite the similar, even though it wasn't a conscious decision. I chose Computer Modern Unicode as a font, the font used in programs like LaTeX for scientific (specifically math and physics) writing. I quite like the formal and readability of it, and it has a professional look without being devoid of character. After modifying the outlines, I gave the v a three-dimensional effect that's wrong on purpose: the right part should be behind the left, but it's the other way around at the base. I found it fitting, putting that effect in the logo. A changing perspective, so to speak.

Escher would approve of your V.

Me? I fight the urge to use OCR-A, and there's something about MICR-13B that warms the cockles of my '80s heart.

Fun Fact: Escher's from my hometown!

As someone interested in infrastructure, DIN 1451 and Transport have a special place in my heart. So damn readable.

Dude, no joke. I was using the hell out of Bell Gothic until the lack of italics or bold drove me to Anonymous Pro. both of those are beautiful.
