I think the Libyan rebel with the guitar was a great one. I have to wonder if he was half-joking, or seriously trying to inspire his buddies. Seeing as they had the loyalist pinned down, I would guess that he was feeling good, and thought it would be funny.

One of my favorite things about the end of the year is the collections of photographs that publications put out there as "best of". The portrait of Kevin Spacey is a great shot. It must be really odd to be confronted with so many pictures of yourself on a regular basis. And the overall of Tahrir Square really pushes the difference between the protests by Egyptians and those by US Americans. US Americans don't have the critical mass yet (hopefully) for protests to make a dent in the socio-political problems they are facing.
