What's the story behind the Dr. Pepper guitar?

Good eye, I didn't catch that at first. I have a brother-in-law that is obsessed with Dr. Pepper's "Code Red". -It's amazing he still has teeth.

As for the instruments, I for one am more interested in the banjo. That, plus a mandolin are two instruments I'd like to add to my collection.

T-Dog, you play that banjo much? If not, I'll take it off your hands. -You can keep the Dr. Pepper guitar :)

I don't remember dr pepper ever having a code red flavor. Are you sure you aren't thinking of Mountain Dew?

The banjo was given to me by my grandfather on my moms side. I do play it, but not as much as I should. It needs new strings and the action is a little too high. It sounds wonderful though - I suck at it but I'm learning at my own leisurely pace.

Yep, definitely thinking Mt Dew, my bad. One of the cool things about the banjo and the mandolin is that if you're even marginally good at playing them, they're a ton of fun. I'd say the same of the ukelele.

Do you play?? I could definitely use some tips. A lot of my problems are coming from my right had being too accustomed to guitar strumming patterns. I'm familiar enough with the strings to play but I definitely don't sound like I know what I'm doing.

Haha, oh god, I didn't even think about that being in the frame when i posted. It has probably the most boring story out of all the instruments in the pic.

It was given to me as a gift by my recently-made-ex-girlfriend at the time, because my favorite soft drink is Dr. Pepper and i think it was part of her long, dramatic quest to win me back. This was the beginning of my senior year in high school, and when she gave it to me i wasn't sure how to handle the situation so i just put it in my locker. There it sat for the entire school year and then one day i cleaned out all my stuff and just couldn't throw it away... its been sitting in my room/practice space ever since. i never changed the strings or even plugged it in.

It hasn't had much of a purpose for me but my last night my friend actually pointed it out and insisted that it HAD to be on a stage at some point. So i guess we'll see what happens.
