Sacha Baron Cohen was signed on to play Freddie mercury in the Queen biopic. However, he soon realized that the lead guitarist, Brian Mey was under the impression that the film would have Freddie Mercury die halfway through. Brian thought the film should be about how the band overcame his death and still rocked on. Wisely, Cohen realized nobody wanted to see that movie.
