To be fair, while I strongly oppose his views and actions on fossil fuels vs. renewable energy, the CEFC could fund research into other technologies. Wind is already reasonably well-developed, and by forcing the CEFC away from it there could be a focus on things that may be unlikely to otherwise see interest from private industry. However, it'd still be nice to see more investment into things like wind without a prime minister who wants to reduce the number of the "visually awful" wind farms.
I learned git mainly through personal projects, but some things that have really solidified my understanding were The Eudyptula Challenge and just contributing to software on GitHub. This kinda stuff let me play with branches, various types of checkout, interactive adds, rebasing, etc.
I think the other distinction is that multireddits have some notion of curation – you can create, name and share them. In comparison, collections of reddits (via the + character) are somewhat ad-hoc and just allow you to group content.
That's true... I don't have a facebook account and I'd rather they not know anything about me from me directly. They probably know some stuff from people I know (contact trawling, etc.).
Wasn't there something about Facebook messenger not requiring an account now: http://newsroom.fb.com/news/2015/06/sign-up-for-messenger-without-a-facebook-account/ ? You can just use your phone number, similar to Telegram.
I too use Telegram, but nobody else I know does...It's a shame, because the web app and phone app are both really pleasant to use!
Wow, this is surprisingly complex. I'm really enjoying it!

Hey buddy, welcome! I only just joined too. I'm kind of sick of the drama and superficiality of reddit. I guess at some point everything devolves into memes and quick one-liners to try to get some karma. It's a bit disheartening when you see somebody's thoughtful reply sitting with only a couple of points, while jokes making fun of how technical that comment is see hundreds of points and even guildings! It seems like this place has the focus on longer-form content, and longevity of discussions, which I think is ideal.
