I avoid spoilers at all costs. Inspired by one of my favorite movie podcasts, I started even avoiding _trailers_.

Imagine going into Mad Max Fury Road and having no idea what you're in for. Even the crazy guitar guy was a total surprise. That's the experience I got, and was amazing.

I came here to say this. Not really sure how to classify this one. A parody? Homage?

There's no link to the original, or thanks for inspiration.

Awesome, I'll have to check it out.

I haven't heard of it, but I've been wanting to check out some new anime.

Is it very long? I'm fond of shorter series like Paranoia Agent, which I can get through in a few sittings.

The host of my favorite movie podcast is serious about skipping trailers. If he can't wait out in the lobby, he'll go so far as to jam his fingers in his ears and hum. It sounds crazy, but then I hear him describe the experience of going into a movie everyone knows about, and not even knowing what genre to expect.

Thinking back, I loved The Matrix and Fight Club so much because, due to circumstances I won't get into, I was completely isolated from their ad campaigns. I thought they'd both turn out to be typical action flicks. Matrix looked like a spy thriller, and I thought Fight Club was going to be one of those Bloodsport knockoffs that flooded the market during the 90s. Boy, was I wrong. :D

I think we have our first suspect. ;)

I thought the bit about modern interpretations of Mega Man being too difficult was interesting. I say the same thing about recent Sonic the Hedgehog games: they place so much emphasis on speed that the games are practically impossible to play, even though the early titles like Sonic 2 had a much more calculated place.

It's as if games get a reputation for something (speed, difficulty) and with each new game, it's blown further and further out of proportion.
