That's actually why I ask. I thought ButterflyEffect had already been up mountains (meaning ~8000' ones). Rainer and also stuff like Adams and Baker are also mountains but are more mountainy and what I meant by mountains.

You are severely interfering with my self-righteous dudgeon.

There's a lot to choose from.

What I can tell you is the Mount Saint Helen's should be sometime next month, and I'll be saving Mount Rainier for 2019. Hoping to spend a lot of time above 8,000 ft, preferably close to 10,000 ft in 2018.

Very nice! Baker or Adams is sort of on my to-do list. A number of professional guides go to them and don't require any technical experience. I'd like to get to those altitudes myself to see how I cope with higher altitudes. 4000-5000' just doesn't see much difference in oxygen compared to home (1000'). Having a guide would take away my uncertainty in a new area.

The weather on Mount Saint Helen's looks amazing tomorrow! Then a pretty strong front at the end of the week. Looks like a 6000' ascent in six miles from Peakbagger ascents? I'd love to hear a trip report from it. A tree line 2500' below the summit is totally foreign to me, too. It's probably 700' on Marcy.

Sound like some wonderful plans.
