Yeah, I think that a badge is special Because you cant buy it. You have to have earned it. That's what makes me think twice before I hand them out, casually.

When I received one I know that the person likely felt the same way about giving them as I did. It's a cool system.

I've not considered the ability to purchase them. We have had an experiment in the past where each hubskier had some amount of "currency" to start with and each time you shared a post or comment you gave a bit of it away to that user. Do we have a link to that experiment? mk, insomniasexx?

Isn't that how karma and clout (IIRC) worked back in the mist-shrouded Beginning of Hubski?

It's so hard for me to recall the way Hubski originally looked. I know mk and insomniasexx have screen shots from the way back. I'm pretty sure Hubski is older than my oldest child. That's amazing to me. Hubski is my first born.

Oooh. Sounds like a good read once dug up. Assuming you can pay for more currency? Having badges is a concept I like way more than something like reddit gold for the reason stated.

I have over a year of reddit gold because I paid for alien blue. It's very nearly useless. Badges are much better

I had a backlog of badges for a while and I'm running out. That's why I thought of this
