Fun fact: our "North" pole is actually a magnetic "South", as per physics' sign conventions. HAHAHAhahah! Sorry, yeah, maybe they don't have internet or something, because the Earth's magnetic moment (overall dipole field strength) has been documented as weakening for the last couple centuries. Yes, we are in the throws of a magnetic pole inversion, as has happened at least several hundred times in the history of our planet. In fact, we are overdue, as far as the geological records are concerned. The poles aren't so much "getting ready to flip", we are seeing the manifestations of the early stages of this process. The field will continue to grow more chaotic/weaker (overall) in the next few thousand years, and will eventually realign with the opposite polarity. It is true that the Earth will be exposed to greater levels of both solar and galactic cosmic ray radiation during this process, and it's only going to get worse, but I'm sure humanity will weather it out. Please, if you're curious, ask me anything you wish. Sources will be provided if you really yearn for verification.The scientists who conducted the study are still unsure why the magnetic field is weakening.

I give am_Unition my full endorsement. In fact the Venusian Cloud city is going to erect a statue of him for his great help in our plans. (by statue of him I mean a Garfield inflatable we got cheap off the Macy's day parade with a big sign on it that says am_Unition. Weight is an major issue in cloud cities.) Seriously though he is the got to guy on space and weather and space weather.

For what I remember from school, Venus is not pole flipped. She just spin counter clockwise (counter to any other planet in the solar system)
Some speculated, she's not counter clockwise but upside-down (compared to other planets)
Either speculation lead Einstein's good friend, Velikovsky, to write a complete book about how Venus came from Jupiter and had a near miss with Earth... Just based on worldwide religious belief and myths.

It is not a pole flip that would make us like Venus. That would happen if the magnetosphere failed completely and then only in geological time.
Wait, REALLY? I am sooooo excited about this. This is easily my favorite geological weird thing. I have long entertained a secret wish to write an alternative-history genre piece wherein the multithousand year pole-flipping process began right as humans were coming into their own. What happens? Does it fuck our science? Is navigation affected a lot? Does a polarity religion come into power?

Mercury as well the other planets in the solar system was born from the Sun because all planets centripetal acceleration fulfills the rule: g=(V.C)/R ln(1+V/C) where R – is the distance between the planet and the Sun, V=w.R where w – is the angular velocity of the equatorial area of the Sun. Poor English grammar aside, this person seems to subscribe to the theory that the Sun "ejects" all of the planets. They believe that the planets weren't precipitants of an accretion disk in the early phases of our solar system's formation, but that the sun periodically burps out planets, and Mercury was the sun's most recent "burp". Obviously, such a theory is completely rejected by mainstream science. No one understands this level of science because it's not science at all. One thing though, they do seem to be somewhat correct in their account of the solar magnetic dynamo. The tachocline, the boundary between the sun's solid core and it's liquid mantle, is thought to be largely responsible for driving the 11 year solar cycle. But does the core have a 70 km radius? No.

As an aside I used to read a lot of crack pot theories about The Nibiru Cataclysm which basically is that this mysterious planet is the reason everything in orbit (look at the solar system actually) has an egg shape. The theory being that "Nibiru" is out there and it (should have, following these theories) passed by in 2012, I wonder if the Aztecs were the reason we have so many 2012 predictions (that fell through)...
