I used to record little acoustic vignette's all the time but I haven't in a while. Tonight I recorded this one. Then I wanted to add vocals, mostly because I couldn't get the midi to work -(wtf?!)
Anyways, I recalled that humanodon sent me some lyrics so I incorporated them. The lyrics are strong and they should be used with a better song that is specifically written for them.
Since it's such a short song, I couldn't incorporate all of the lyrics and this is definitely an "interpretation" of what humanodon wrote. In fact, it's me improvising a melody/reading all in the first take.
It was fun. Thanks Rico.
Send me more please. I love how loose the lyrics are and how open to interpretation they are.
Cheers!
So. Within ten minutes you and I both posted demos of acoustic pieces of music in which we shout out humandon... Yours is a lot more fleshed out and professional. Mine was recorded in a bedroom directly into audacity because I don't believe in production value tonight. This is really good though! I was really enjoying it starting at around the 48 second mark. For a first take this is great. Stop being so talented.
Steve, I almost feel like I should listen to more of your music (where did I put that damn album you sent me?) just to get a sense of how you form melodies around words. I think that's what was making me nervous the first time around. I liked the melody you played with here and I'm glad the words were usable! I'll send you some more words. Not the ones I was writing earlier, because then that would be a song about anuses. I had an idea and it didn't really work out . . . on to new ideas!

-Yeah, that's sort of played out. Let's be original.
Of course! I love them. I recently stumbled upon this amazing find for any parents out there: Ahem..ghostoffuffle:
It's too good. Kids will not like it, parents will though. That's the problem with kids songs, they're either horrible and kids LOVE them or they're good and kids are indifferent to them. The video saves it though, kids would definitely love the video/song.
Wrongo. Caspar Baby Pants lives around here, he does local concerts all the time. He is a fucking ROCK GOD to toddlers. Seriously, his shows are always jam packed with tiny, sticky little screaming humans. Kids who don't know their ABC's yet have memorized his canon. When you think about it, it's not that much of a stretch for him to go from PotUSA stuff to full on kids songs. "Peaches" and "Kitty at my Foot" were basically already there.
That's great to hear, if nothing else because it gives us some hope regarding our soon to be attempted collaboration on a children's album which will capitalize on parents that are insanely sick of their kids singing the songs from Frozen, in order to make millions. muahahaha (twists his evil musician mustache)
Control the kids' hearts and minds, and you control the FUTURE.
Easy Adolf. I just want to create kick-ass versions of songs like Twinkle Twinkle, not brain-wash a generation :)
