As someone who has run websites before... I would have jumped all over that.

Then again, i's just a poor boy and well, I ain't on 4chan's level.

I was expecting some Gawker-esque tirade demonizing the site but it was actually way more informative and well-researched than I thought. Kudos.

http://www.adventuresinpoortaste.com/ -- #comicbooks #gaming

Comic book reviews, and some funny gaming/movie musings.

http://www.reddit.com/ -- Despite the popular opinion that it's "changed for the worse," I still get a lot of enjoyment from it.

http://pellecreepy.blogspot.com/ -- #horror #movies

Friend's horror movie website. I like to browse it from time to time and compare my opinion on certain horror films to his own, especially after watching/rewatching one.

Still a big fan of World of Warcraft and some of the topics on the message board can be interesting.

World of Warcraft.

The whole storyline surrounding deposing the Horde's leader Garrosh being corrupt and actually having to storm the main capital of the Horde itself (Siege of Orgrimmar) has been some of the most fascinating lore in a long time.

The Timeless Isle (the current end-game hub) is also very PvP-centric and reminiscent of the Isle of Quel'Danas in terms of constant world PvP taking place and befitting gear/loot rewards abounding.

What's your take on the upcoming third Ghostbusters film that's said to be in the works?

Murray has said he won't touch it and was quoted as saying something along the lines of, "Nobody wants to see fat old guys running around in jumpsuits."

Notwithstanding, they have a script completed and they're going to go ahead with anyways, Murray or not.

Slinked in here after a bout of ennui with Reddit; found some very interesting topics here that I hadn't seen before.

Unlike Reddit, I was rewarded for engaging in thought-provoking arguments and expressing cogent viewpoints as opposed to just agreeing with the hivemind or inserting contrived puns. Not to say I dislike Reddit overall -- Hubski was just a nice, breath of fresh air.

Hope to continue to see this site evolve and grow. Idn't it great here, everbody?

Agreed. You'll always have your heavy hitters like Snorlax, Blissey/Chansey, Gyarados, the dragon types, and the legendaries... and then utter crap like Luvdisc and Delibird.

Haha, that writing assignment anecdote is hilarious. She should've given you at least a D for your persistence. (Or temporary insanity.)

Can't disagree with you there; kind of like the shift towards releasing movies in "installments."

"Come see the final part of Twilight... Part 1 of the final part that is!"

It's more acceptable with the Harry Potter movies I suppose because that last book was a veritable tome, but with Twilight... you can tell it's dragged on in a contrived manner. (Yes, I saw it. Yes, to placate somebody else.) What could have been 30 minutes is elongated into nearly 2 hours and it definitely contributes to hyper-ennui.

But most Twilight fans would go to see the movie (with Jacob getting shirtless and Edward pouting lasciviously) even if they split it into 8 pizza pie-esque segments, so what do I know?

Agreed. They must be having a blast. Love how they stay in character to frighten the little kids trying to turn their heads away in trepidation.
bionics  ·  4664 days ago  ·  link  ·    ·  parent  ·  post: After Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, which direction should they take? How about this:
While I certainly won't knock Burton, as his Batman movies were enjoyable... there are certainly many faults in Batman Returns that can be attributed to the elevated free reign he was given after the success of the first. They're too Burtonian and stray away from the flavor of Batman a little too much. A throng of penguins with missile launchers strapped to their backs? The Penguin gargling black blood at the end and being dragged into his subterranean grave by said penguins with their flippers while Gregorian chanting goes on in the background? Might as well affix enormous scissors to Batman's hands while you're at it.

What about Nolan's Batman renditions did you find lacking?
