After listening to this: http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/505/use-only-as-directed I'm a lot more wary of acetaminophen.
There is actually a lot of value to creating bipedal humanoid robots, but it may take a while to be realized. Since many things are designed for us to use, having a humanoid robot may enable the robot to learn human affordances. This may make it easier for the robot to "understand" humans and optimize its behavior.
Don't worry about getting 1000. USB keyboard response times have a standard deviation of 2.5-10ms, so anything above 900 is about as perfect as the computer can measure. There is also some timing variation inherent by measuring with javascript, though I'm not sure how much. EDIT: Got curious and looked into it some more - even 1000Hz gaming mice have a 1.8ms SD. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4374455/ I'm using SD rather than mean response time since it is more relevant to rhythm.
