Interesting question, especially since short poems tend not to garner much respect. One of my favorites is called Hair Poem, by Bill Knott:

  Hair Poem

  Hair is heaven's water flowing eerily over us
  Often a woman drifts down her long hair and is lost

Text surrounded by asterisks (*) is italicized.

Text surrounded by plus signs (+) is bolded.

Text surrounded by vertical bars (|) is quoted. If you double-click a paragraph, it will be quoted.

Symbols such as *, +, |, and ~ can be used literally by placed a \ in front of the text.
