I'm not saying this was the right thing to do, because it wasn't, but there are likely so many other more nefarious examples of voter fraud than a nun trying to do right by her recently deceased friend. FWIW -not much. Voter fraud knows no party affiliation.

In 2008 I canvassed african american neighborhoods in Cleveland. Mysteriously, on the doorknobs of these poor black homes were hung the location of their polling place. Only problem, they were all the wrong address and location. Misinformation is a powerful tool. -purposely employed by the opposition.

This "nun" should be punished for her crime. But it's not a "partisan" crime. If Alex P. Norquist thought they could do it and get away with it, they would too. It's a matter of opportunity, not party. -No moral authority there.

srsly?

"A white supremacist was recently convicted of multiple counts of vote fraud. He had been voting for a friend, killed by XXX during a white power rally some years ago...."

Three words for ya: Senator Al Frankin.

Those are three words that 10 years ago I wouldn't think would be in the same breath.

I would say the same of the white supremacist, it's wrong and it should be punished. But it's not the problem, the problem is larger scale voter fraud and manipulation. I'm sure this sort of thing happens in a consorted, planned out effort every election cycle.

As I mentioned though, it's all wrong. But it knows no party bounds.

I think it knows some party bounds. If both parties are equally guilty, then why is one group of people (broadly) pushing to tough voter ID and the other pushing back twice as hard?

I think not punishing the heck out of the 'rank and file' voter fraud people is kind of like saying: hey, he's only dealing crack in his own area, it's not that big a deal.....

I think this was the most blatant bit of voter fraud in the last election.

All sides do it, and always have. I think it should be discouraged, but I don't think these people needed to be punished. It's at least plausible that they didn't think of what they were doing is fraud, and unlikely they're going to get the opportunity again. Punishing them is just petty cruelty.

I think punishing them is necessary. I don't think it needs to be jail time, but perhaps a fine. They committed a crime and should be punished.
