I wrote and recorded this song years ago and hadn't thought about it in some time until I read a post that Mindwolf made titled Nothing Personal: The questionable Myers-Briggs test.
The song is titled the Sanguine because that is the personality "style" that I was assigned back when I took the test. I took a simplified version and fell in love with the word "Sanguine".
It comes from the latin word for "blood" and has an interesting path to MBTI. It was thought that the more gregarious, outgoing and social people tended to have a more "ruddy complexion" and therefore more "blood" in their cheeks. That is where the description of someone that is outgoing being "sanguine" comes from.
Anyways, enjoy the song. It was a fun one to write and record.
This is great. Are you using a sample bank, or do you actually play violin/have somebody play violin? If it's a bank, what is it? Sounds good. The production quality of your stuff blows me the hell away- can't believe you do this in a home setting.
So, this is off of The New Green's first album. Back then we had two violinists playing with us and a trumpet player. Thank you for the compliment on the sound but this isn't a basement recording. This was recorded at Backseat Productions in Ann Arbor. If you hear something of mine that I post and it sounds great, chances are it was off of one of our albums. Otherwise, if it is super lo-fi, it's from my basement :) You can download our most recent for free from the link provided above. Check out the song "Grow Up", it seems to be a favorite for a lot of people.
Thanks. I had never considered that. I guess sanguine just made sense as a sort if pseudonym for "me" in the song. The others might be interesting to approach though. Thanks for the suggestion.
