It's still possible to do worthwhile things on the internet, it's just many people choose not to do so. I don't use Reddit as much anymore, I use Hubski because the articles have thought put into them. Aside from that, I use the internet to find new music and figure out ways to physically acquire it, as well as managing a music blog. That's something I wouldn't easily be able to outside of the internet, and the same goes for finding and trying recipes.
Doing thing in real life is generally much more worthwhile and I agree with just about everything you said, but it's still possible to do things that are not a complete waste.
