James is such a great interview, always. He doesn't hold back.
This portion of the interview sent a shiver up my spine, if only because I really, really want to believe that he's right. That we are on the verge of something new and incredible, filled with acceptance and enlightenment. To state and simply and beautifully as he did there, well, it's no wonder that he's a great song-writer. The rest of this interview was great, but that was the portion that really hit me. My Morning Jacket is a fantastic band, and I like his solo album a lot, but not as much as his MMJ material. We're trying to embrace the feminine side of the universe again, trying to say everyone is equal. During this past election, women stood up and were like, "We're not going to be treated like this anymore." The Latino vote said, "You can't pretend like we're not part of America." It's so awesome that it worked.
