Oh, I've read this. I remember wishing it was one of The Atlantic's reflective feature pieces rather than an argument with facts to back it up. I went in expecting to be able to reminisce and instead I learned something, which is obviously also good -- but I think if I wrote a post about how books can change lives I would go about it in a different way. EDIT: Here's a shameless plug for a poem I wrote -- this is how I think books, especially fiction, change children (or anyone really).
