It's been mentioned elsewhere, but I'd like to see a little button on (at least) each `outercomm` element to collapse it and all of the subcomments. I've toyed briefly with putting together a userscript to add one but haven't really committed any time to it at this point.

In my opinion if you do end up auto-hiding comments I would base it on hiding comments or subthreads that, after some period of time, don't have any points. So like, if I look at a post that's a week old the site auto-hides any comments that haven't gained any attention yet. Just an errant thought :)
