It was great. Could've been tighter but it was good. It looked so fake the whole time though due to the faster frame rate and so much cgi. I love the character though so seeing them again was awesome.
I remember there was some debate amongst those that were able to see advanced viewings of the Hobbit about whether or not the increased FPS were distracting. I had forgotten about that. So you noticed it the entire time or did you eventually fall in to the film? That's a bummer about it having too much CGI. There is only 1 time in the LotR series where the CGI really distracted me and that was in the Mines of Moria scenes. Especially as Gandolf is battling the Balrog. Aside from that, I thought that the LotR's movies had a good balance of "organic" and synthesized reality. It will be a bummer if I feel like the Hobbit doesn't. Do you think that the faster FPS will catch on? Ah well, I still look forward to checking it out. Also, I'll be posting photo's tonight as we celebrate. You ought to go out with some peeps and get toasted and rep on the west coast -- We can have some virtual shots together ;)
I'm just arriving in San Diego. Definitely gunna be a hot mess night. I don't have any Hubski stickers with me but I'm sure I can transform some napkins or something.
