One of my favorite Quebecois graphic novelist wrote a book about his time in Myanmar: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burma_Chronicles

Might be a good time for a re-read! Just bought his newest novel about working at a paper making factory in his youth, and while it was good he really shines in his travel memoirs. My favorite book of his is Jerusalem, a good primer for anyone unfamiliar with the Israel/Palestine conflict, but also not ready to read dry political analysis. It does a lot of pointing out everyday contradictions and quirks of living there, from a confused expat point of view. The kind of things that peak my interest while traveling, mundane things like differences of light switch design around the world.
