I think there's more to it than simply anal stimulation being seen as homosexual; rather, being penetrated is seen as emasculating, and that's the real association with homosexuality. To be dominated is to be feminine.
A nice view but at this point i think the slightly bigger is getting people to stop treating sex so damned strangely. Its culturally overpursued by men and underpursued by woman; at the same time a guy who sleeps around is called a douchebag and a woman who doesn't sleep around is a prude. There's too many confusing signals. Also, let's not forget that pegging might be something the man would enjoy but the woman would not do. Masculinity as its seen today isn't just held as a valued quality by men.
We definitely live in a society that is terrified of sex. It's a damn shame. Life is short and if you want to "peg" (a term you've introduced me to), then by all means peg away! If you prefer having sex while dressed like Popeye or the Incredible Hulk (don't knock it till you've tried it), then go to town. The world is your oyster... which incidentally is an aphrodisiac. Have fun.
It's a shame everyone is terrified of it. Steven Fry made this interesting point about "sex obsession" with regard to the Catholic church. Basically we have one end of the spectrum, and that is the religious sex obsessed, who spend so much of their time preaching about how sex is bad and you should feel bad for enjoying it. It's the same way that an anorexic is food obsessed. And then there's the other end of the spectrum, similar to how obese people are obsessed with food, many people are obsessed with sex. And of course, people at both ends of the spectrum are always the most vocal. Sex is great, it's jolly, we all like it. But when it starts to shape every little thing you do, then it's obsessive, just like anything else.
