- You might think that Aston Martin would rather forget about its odd city car, the infamous Toyota iQ-based Cygnet. After all, what Aston now calls "a ground-breaking car bringing luxury to the city car segment" was mostly brought to the market in an effort to satisfy 2012's European Union-imposed fleet average emissions regulations.
Staring in 2011, these upgraded iQs took 150 hours each to build, with Aston originally expecting to find 4000 buyers for them. But the lack of performance modifications meant sales were poor from day one, and despite throwing in free Cygnets with every One-77, the smallest Aston's run was over after just 593 units. Today, less than 150 are registered in the UK, but one of them has a V8 now.
