Hi Hubski
IdeaCity is a spin-off from the original Technology Entertainment Design (TED) conferences. It's a three-day annual conference hosted in Toronto and features talks from scientists, entrepreneurs, artists, scholars, activists and agitators.
At the recent 2017 IdeaCity, Dr. Michael Eisenberg talked about the latest research in the area of reproduction. After the controversy around embryonic stem cells used to create eggs and sperm, scientists started using just skin cells to create gametes and eggs. He says that cells can be taken from a rooster and used to make eggs or from a hen and used to make sperm (12'00"). It's kinda interesting to see what is coming down the wire for infertile men and women and same-sex couples who might want to conceive their own child.

There's lots of other interesting talks here. I also just watched Alan Alda talk about communication. At 81, he's a few decades beyond MASH.
