The number I've heard repeated a lot is $5k, but those are definitely partners. That distribution graph is from 2009 (eek) but it's all we've got. Quora thinks there are 81 billion Youtube videos. 81 billion x .33% is 270,000 videos earning $2k or more, over a 10-year history (which is likely exponential, not linear), in many languages. Which is an impressive amount of work when you're losing billions a year. The Invisible Hand says they need to lose more for bad content. It's the fuckin' advertisers that are going to save us all.
