Maybe I lucked out. I grew up loving the original trilogy, but never getting into any of the extended universe. I was a teenager when the prequels came out and didn't love or hate them (maybe I hated Attack of the Clones a little).

I had just started getting into the extended universe when The Force Awakens came out. I had only read The Thrawn Trilogy, and when they announced a new canon I basically abandoned anything else "Legends" and started consuming just the new canon.

I certainly wont say that The Force Awakens was perfect, but I did manage to get me really excited about new Star Wars content.

Yeah. I used to be a huge Star Wars fan growing up. Then my enthusiasm for it was dormant for about 10 years, until I saw the teaser for TFA. I wasn't really all that excited until I saw the Millenium Falcon and all of a sudden everything came rushing back.

If you haven't, you should check out the CGI Clone Wars series. It's wonderfully done and more than makes up for the prequel trilogy.

The Clone Wars was good. I think it did a great job portraying how close Anakin and Obi-Wan really were. Brothers.
