What is the J?

Isn't PBR really crappy? I've heard it's like the American equivalent of Dutch Gold or Stella Artois.

Lol. Stella Artois is classy compared to PBR.

No, actually. They package it up real nice here, with paper you've gotta tear off, but I have a friend who spent a couple of years in France that has also claimed Stella Artois is like PBR over there. I believe it; Europe's Big Beer (the beer "establishment", if you will) is of higher quality than ours, but microbrews are sweeping the nation here in the U.S., so I'm not complaining.

No. You don't understand. Stella Artois is literally a better beer than PBR. PBR is that shitty. The only reason PBR became popular with hipsters is because they could get an 18 pack for less than $10 and so they would drink it "ironically" because they didn't want to admit they're actually buying it cause they can load up a cooler for cheap. There is a long list of beer I'd be willing to drink before PBR.

Rolling Rock. Killians. Budweiser. Miller. Stella Artois. Heineken. A few regional shit brands.

PBR is the beer you drink, not because you're desperate, but because either your tastes suck or you hate yourself and your friends so much you buy it to make everyone suffer.

Stella Artois is the beer you drink because the restaurant you're eating at is trying to look cultured by having import beer, but doesn't have a purchaser who knows their beer for damn.

Solid follow up, A++.

The first time I ordered a Stella was at Olive Garden, and I said "I'll have a Stella Ar-to-ee". Nope, this isn't my biting sarcasm or one of my fictional comedy sketches, this one happened.

It really is crappy. A PBR & J is a Pabst Blue Ribbon and a shot of Jameson. It's a drink you only ever order if you're already very drunk and intend to get drunker.
