I feel like so many of these words have lost their true meaning over time. What I think of as a flatterer or hypocrites is surely not what Dante saw them as.

I think every human I know would fall in the many (if not all) of these categories if based on Dante's context. I mean "glutton", come on!?.. I just ate a cupcake covered in Boston Cream Pie Ben and Jerry's ice cream. And I think I may go back for seconds....

I just made Irish Carbomb Cupcakes for my best friends birthday. They have about a half bottle of Jameson in them and as much guinness & baileys. I've eaten 5 already tonight. If that's not gluttony then I don't know what it is....Alcoholism?
