Why aren't we recapturing helium from nuclear reactors again? I know that we were at one point, but that stopped for some reason.

If the US would stop dumping Helium on the market and therefore make it more expensive, they might start doing that again. Helium balloons are too cheap, it should be $10 per balloon, or we can move to hydrogen and at least get the side effect of a neat light show once in a while.

Probably not worth the cost, but it is always an option in the event that we do exhaust the natural supply.

If we're only 25 years away from depletion of the natural resources, like the study referenced in the article says, and can't figure out a good way to harness this new source, then it sounds to me like we'd better start recapturing soon...
