A forgotten moment
A few weeks ago I watched Burn! It was fabulous. I don't think any other actor has a better fifth-best movie.
It moved me to post a list of recently-watched underrated classics: http://plus.google.com/110440139189906861022/posts/FutLSYtAJ...

Absolutely, that's why it's on the list :)
But it's not necessarily for pop culture references, closer to the opposite. I consider my list to be of movies forgotten by pop culture but undeservingly so. If there was one over-arching reason I liked those movies, it was that they were accidentally educational, providing a suprisingly rich glimpse of another period. It's possible they aren't accurate. I'm not a historian, and one shouldn't get history from fiction :) But the fact that those stories would be depicted differently today provides, I think, a surprising triangulation on what really happened.
