Not a Cruz fan AT ALL, but I think understand this sentiment. I feel drawn to Cruz because he's an ideologue like Bernie. He's uncompromising, willing to take on even his own party leader in public if he feels like they're wrong. He doesn't play well with others because he doesn't believe in the status quo, or in compromising to get almost what he wants. The world is very black and white to Cruz. He does exactly what he thinks is the action with the most integrity, even if it makes every single one of his peers hate his guts. Even if it shuts down the government. He just doesn't care, because in his mind he's standing up for what is right, and he's willing to do it even if the whole world is against him.
