The title is definitely correct; I had never heard of this. Its stunning. I wonder what would have been the fate of these people if they had been left alone. Would they have been harassed by the ethnic majorities of each country? Would they have been left alone over time? Was this done primarily to alleviate future concerns that the Germans would again try to "liberate" their kin in neighboring countries?
