As I have progressed in my career, I have been fortunate to steadily earn more each year. I'm not wealthy, but I have noticed that although some of the stresses of life have diminished, increased earnings have not led to the sense of having "more" or being "elite". I think that if you are self made, you will never feel "rich". "Rich" has become something people like me don't aspire to be. I see "Rich" as a person that is draped in gold/fur, driving a 100k car and speaking in the elite tongue of rococo. -Having said this, I can see how if we earned over 250k in our household, I would not consider myself as "rich" but rather just "doing well". By the way, I have no issue paying my share of taxes, I do take issue with how they are allocated.

btw, I just read this: http://news.yahoo.com/warren-buffett-invest-5-billion-bank-a...
-Buffett has already made $ off the investment so it isn't completely altruistic but perhaps others will follow suit. Could help people begin to stimulate spend.
