Well, to be fair I didn't have much interest in Daredevil at first but found myself pleasantly surprised. I'll give JJ a shot, especially if you say it makes the heroes appear more human and down to earth. I'll let you know what I think.
+1 for JJ from me, too. Very good series, I can see how it's even better than Daredevil for people. I really, really like the villain. He's so awesome and one of the most interesting and original villains I've seen so far. On top of that, he's really well played. The pilot is also really well done, should hook you right away :)
I also liked JJ quite a bit. I haven't finished DD yet, but close. One major difference is that JJ is not quite as violent as DD - I think DD is a little bit disturbing in its extreme fight-scene violence.
Yeah. Some of the violence in Daredevil was a bit on the intense side. On the one hand, I'm kind of glad that Netflix took the series in a direction where they weren't shy about things. On the other hand though, I worry a bit about how many kids watched it because parents though "Oh, it's about a comic book hero. It's for kids."
