the only one i think is really silly is the bow saw instead of using a band saw. Like, c'mon dude, don't make your life so hard. Fun fact though, a lot of luthiers keep light fixtures to a minimum on purpose, and prefer to use natural light from south-facing windows as much as possible. It's way easier to see details and the truth of things in sunlight.
