Huntsman. He actually believes in science, and has worked for the Obama administration, clearly establishing his credentials as a moderate than can work across the aisle.

I don't think there is any way he will do this though. I think he'll use the vp pick to pander to conservatives to speak to the narrative that he isn't a true conservative. I think that's a mistake for him though as the right actually believes Obama is a socialist and will show up no matter what. Romney will lose a grab at the all important independents, in an election where Obama's base is not energized.

Tall order for conservative America -a full Mormon ticket? I think Romneys smart and will choose a relatively moderate veep.

I'm not so sure it matters really. His Mormanism has been zero issue so far. The only people that would care are the people that will show up to vote against Obama. If you are so dogmatically opposed to a Morman that you won't vote for one, then it's a non starter already. I just am not convinced that for those people "one is fine but two and I refuse" is realistic thinking.

His mormonism is zero issue thus far. We are at the wee beginning of this thing. Trust me, as super pacs start throwing around money and marketing we'll see some question marks about his faith and how "odd" it is. Throw two mormons on a ticket and that's pretty much assured. Get some video of a mormon preacher stating that Jesus came back and showed himself to Joseph Smith and there goes the evangelicals....

[edit] might as well be a scientologist as far as middle america is concerned.
