I've been working on this website for the past 2 years or so. It's been through many iterations and for the past year has been sitting mostly silent while I gutted and revamped the code in a new framework. I finally finished the rewrite, which includes a fairly extensive redesign on the front end, and just released it as version 3 of the website. Really, this is the first time the site has looked like what I first envisioned when I started working on it. It took me forever to get there, but I'm really pleased with the result. Check it out and let me know what you think! (And if you find any bugs ;) )

First impressions: Looks great, very appealing. We eat with our eyes after all, right? Immediately I thought to myself, I want to share some of my recipe's, the next time I cook I'll be taking photos and submitting. When I do, I'll let you know what I think of the process. I've bookmarked the site so as not to forget.

Created an account, that was easy and the process looks good. I like that I don't have to use fb or google. But I clicked on submit and got this:

Was that after you'd filled out and submitted the form or just when you hit submit? Man, I spent several days testing this thing before release. And still it breaks. I guess there's only so much I can do when I'm testing my own creation.

Edit: never mind, reproduced and fixed. I created that bug trying to solve another minor bug. I hate putting out release fires. In any case, thanks for catching that!

First off, don't be too hard on yourself, the site looks great... congrats.

I created my account, went to the home screen and then clicked "submit" and that's the response I got -twice.

I just tried it again and it worked fine. I'll play around with it more later when I actually make something and take some photo's. It looks like a cool site.

You should add cocktail recipes. I'd be all over that.

If you want to add a cocktail recipe, just add it and tag it as "cocktail". That will (should) create the cocktail tag. Eventually, I want to let people with a high enough reputation edit tag descriptions and assign tags to types (if you look through, you'll notice a bunch of "general" tags that really belong as "meal" or "allergen"). Not sure when I'll get to it, but it's on the todo list.

Also, thanks! And yeah, no worries, not beating myself up too much. Releases are always a wee bit stressful ;) I was just venting a bit.

Cool site, good idea. I've always enjoyed cooking and listening to records at the same time. Maybe I could incorporate which albums to listen to while cooking my recipe?
