Permaculture. I talk about it so much, that I don't allow myself to use the word anymore. If I want to say something about it, I make myself describe a new practical example, to whomever I am talking to.
I wasn't getting very good feedback. It wasn't that people weren't listening, I just kept using a buzzword, that they were not that familiar with. The concept is way too expansive for that. If I'm outside with someone interested, it leads to running around explaining things. Sometimes I start model building.
Yeah, that list is even too short, passive solar, passive rainwater havesting, zonation, natural building, stacking functions, calculating embodied energy, using the edge, patterning, aquaculture and ect.. I am a fanatic, so I don't see any of it as unscientific, or out there. https://justlists.wordpress.com/2010/01/14/principles-of-permaculture/ Kids get the most out of making models. I got in trouble with my cousins wife, because the boys got muddy. Always ask for permission, before adding water to a demonstration. LOL.
I really like this idea. It makes you sound less like a know it all and more like a person with something interesting to say - I may have to do that for certain things I talk about, especially when it comes to hot button topic and opinions.Permaculture.
