It's after 2PM, still waiting for for a plumbing inspector for a scheduled AM inspection. It's a five minute inspection, the three tiny things they dinged me for are all set and they were supposed to file me as OK for occupation anyway but they didn't and no one can seem to allow a variance. Inspection was supposed to be yesterday but they said that I hadn't turned in some paperwork that I had already filed. By the time I got my copy of the paperwork in their hans the guy who had to file it was out of the office for the day...

Pretty much standard operating procedure for "The City That Works" you over. I'd be opening tomorrow if they did their job. Ah well, I know they are short staffed and trying to hire another 70 people but now I have a stomachache and a canker sore from all the worry.

Update

Waited 7 hours for an inspector who never showed. Called the city to reschedule on their automated system and got an invalidated code message, the same message I got over the lost paperwork... Called a real person who told me that my plumbing final was approved, which was odd because no one ever looked at the stuff I fixed, they only saw that they had my money when they thought that they didn't. Calling in final building inspection for tomorrow, should be a breeze, maybe I'll open Monday?
