Anyone else think this is pretty dishonest?

That, and will it not be obvious what's happening when someone uses another computer, clears their cache, or see a blog with tens of thousands of views without any comments on it?

This comes across as a mostly tongue-in-cheek app. I don't expect it would have any practical application or is likely to genuinely fool anyone; it's more a joke about getting internet users to host their own trenchant comments that don't contribute to discussion. I wouldn't take it too seriously.

In addition to the fact that this is obviously a joke, dishonest to whom? It's not like commenting on the internet guarantees you an audience anyway.

I don't get it either. If you want comments, add in a commenting system, and if not, don't have one. Lots of blogs are just fine without comments, so I don't see how this improves on that with regards to trolls and spammers, except that this infuriates and chases away users who want real discussion.

I think the joke is that it would do so less than most actual comment sections...
