If in future we end up having artificial humans (Check out Ex-Machina), I think to an extent they can be regarded as humans, provided they have consciousness. Ultimately, the Human consciousness is what makes us different than all the other animals, take the consciousness away and we're just a better looking ape. So in that light, I think you can regard anything with consciousness as a human.

Of course, the other side of that argument is that if you have a artificial human made out of mechanical parts and plastic, you can't really call it a human, because it's just like a very organized, neatly packed tool box.
