As in the feed? Probably not. I am not against them in principle. Thumbnails make consumption of some content easier. However, that's something that we have chosen to avoid as a design decision. We don't want to encourage content that can be breezed through. Many places on the web do it very well, and I visit some of them. It's just not the experience we want to serve here. I hope that's not a deal-breaker for you, but that's our game. It's not lost on us that we'd probably grow larger and more quickly if we did.
Perhaps with a browser extension that fetches any image of the target website, thus making it optional for the users to install it :P dunno, but you are right, most commoners would enjoy more the content here with the thumbnails as it would make things easier to digest, still its a respectable desicion not to add them
That's the thing hubski wants to avoid. If you stick around long enough, you'll start to notice how most of the content posted here are long articles, and the comments are in-depth discussion. Rather than the image/meme-filled reddit, like you're used to. The reason for no thumbnails is to avoid having people simply post a bunch of pictures/memes, and instead focus on good articles.
