To be honest, I prefer to get music from the creators themselves, credit given where it's due and all. That said though, list some bands that you really like. I might be able to hunt them down.
Fair enough. Iron Lung by Pram. It's listed on wikipedia as "neo-psychedelia" and on discogs as "future jazz, downtempo". I have no idea how to define it, and it's a very peculiar kind of mood. I find the title of the album to be strangely fitting, because listening to it makes me think of strange lives and small spaces. This is the second of the four songs contained in it, Water Toy. The Turtle Sessions by Echophone. Another short album, only three songs. If I remember correctly, it was the result of a one-time collaboration. Other than the fact that it's somewhat obscure, there's nothing exceptional about this album. The three songs are all simple ballads with catchy tunes, nice vocals and a hopeful, if slightly melancholic, feeling to it. Lite Life by Angst. 12 fast songs, alternative rock/punk, perfect for car trips and those moments when you need to listen to some fun and unpretentious music. The whole album is on youtube. While looking for information about this album, I found this blog about "wilfully obscure" music, check it out.
