Not to one up you, but one time I had two eggs in a row with double yolks! The improbability of that happening still makes me smile.

Unfortunately one of the yolks broke so the picture isn't as nice as it could have been.

Oddly, the next egg I fried from the same dozen had two yolks as well. I haven't cracked the rest, and I'll report back if I see more. The eggs are organic.

I have always heard that Amish communities have an affinity for breeding double yolk layers. Can not say if that is true, however. Web searches have never turned up anything that I'd call cite-able on the subject, but it isn't like the Amish have a big web presence.

Hens that have just started to lay tend to produce more double yolk eggs. It takes a while for their bodies to fall into a rhythm.

Man, if I was an Amish kid who discovered the internet during Rumspringa, I'd do everything I could to get excommunicated.

Having been on the internet for a while, I kind of want to join the Amish
