Even so, taking on someone else's debt is a huge financial decision that should not be taken lightly. Yes. That's a much better way of putting it. That said, I took on my wife's debts when we were married and vice-versa. Perhaps he's not down with the institution of marriage but would still like to care for her via helping financially? So yeah, we don't know...
