On the contrary, the link between the State Dept and the Alliance of Youth Movements, which created movements.org is pretty clear via Chris Sarette. From https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?complete=0&...:

"Chris Sarette Vice President, Business Operations [for Invisible Children]

Chris Sarette is Invisible's trump card. He graduated from USC with an MA in Communication Management at the age of 21 and waived a position with a communication consulting firm to polish Our development strategy. Chris then initiated and directed the Schools for Schools program before transitioning into his current position as VP of Business Operations. He now manages IC's core operations, including Technology, HR, Shipping, Office Management and Data Management. Oh, and he's Our resident authority on all matters of Salesforce. Chris has traveled to Uganda four times and lead two S4S Winners Trips. Actually, Chris has traveled to more countries abroad than US states. Don't worry; it's completely normal to feel like an underachiever around him."

Here's the link to his page on movements.org: http://www.movements.org/pages/164/

So your claim that no evidence exists is unfounded.

So because this fellow Chris Sarette spoke at a conference that was partially supported by the State Department about how to engage young people in peace through technology, Invisible Children is now a proxy for US policy in Africa?

If the US wanted to dominate South Sudan, they would go take it over on the grounds that the North is persecuting the black population there. It wouldn't be very hard, given the already popular celebrity champions of Darfur. This seems like a pretty roundabout way of doing things.

Uhm...

...that's the whole point of propaganda.

You're changing the argument to one about propaganda. Is Kony2012 a propaganda film? Sure. My point is that ist specious based on the evidence they've presented to ascribe it to the State Dept.
